We’re still basking in the glow of the Black Panther movie, going to see it every now-and-again, trying our best not to let the good feelings disappear. Such a watershed moment in the history of movie-making and representation deserves to be savored for as long as possible! And, it seems we are not alone in our feeling. From billion dollar box office sales to demands for a sequel (now confirmed by Marvel Studios), Black Panther is an undeniable, global phenomenon!
This week we opened our Krull inbox and found a beautiful homage to the film from Azeez Alayah.
Alayah is a fashion photographer from West Africa, currently residing in Chicago, IL. After watching Black Panther, Alayah notes that he could not have been more inspired by the cultural awareness brought to the big screen; so he decided to bring it to his fashion photography as well. Like Wakanda, the models in this shoot show strength, love, dedication and African culture. With the team of makeup artist Vanessa Lester and models Christina, David Hornton and Julia Papillon, this story gives movie epic face and inspiration!
