Snuggled down and bundled up in our layers, we take one last trip to our favorite windswept beach in the Stockholm archipelago before the leaves turn to fall. There we encounter the ebullient kite-surfers reminding us to live life to the fullest…
The DIVERSITY EMBRACELET worn in the shoot is a project designed by OMAR MUNIE, a former refugee from Somalia living in the Netherlands. We got the bracelet at an event in Amsterdam for MOVEMENT ON THE GROUND.
Omar writes:
“As a former refugee from Somalia in The Netherlands I got the chance to make my dreams come true and became a successful designer. Living in freedom gave me all the space I needed t make the most out of my talents.
I am grateful for this and convinced that diversity is of great added value for society. By wearing this Embracelet for Diversity you will clearly show that you also realize the benefits of diversity.
The Embracelet I have designed has been produced in the Dreamfactory in The Hague by people with poor job prospects. The outside material of the bracelet has been made of recycled life jackets that refugees were wearing when the reached Europe safely. As a social entrepreneur I sell these bracelets to gain funding for refugee projects.
Thank you for wearing the Embracelet for Diversity and spreading our message today. Let’s celebrate freedom and diversity together!”
