Internationally-acclaimed artist Clyde Emanuel Archer took us on a private tour and emotional journey, dancing through the hallowed halls of his stage home – the Swedish Royal Opera House. Watching this free performance by a stage veteran gave life to the clothes, and us! (We almost forgot we were supposed to be working.) Clyde was clearly in his element. From modern moves to ballet extensions, the innate musicality of Clyde’s dramatic moves evoked the beats of demonic drums and range of angelic horns, all without a single instrument! At the same time, this story shows our irreverence to traditional binary codes of gender, dress and whiteness as the pinnacle of art and fashion. Why not add a little ballerino #mancouture to the #Afropunk mix?
